if you have a 4 meter rope and someone cuts it into two and one sides 2.5 then the other is 1.5

Total length of rope = 4 m Length of one piece= [latex]2 \frac{1}{2} = \frac{5}{2} [/latex] m Length of other piece = [latex]4 - \frac{5}{2} = \frac{8 - 5}{2} = \frac{3}{2} [/latex] m
