how do you simplify 2 15/10?

First you take 15/10 and see that you can take 5 out of the top and bottom, so it would become 3/2. Now you have 2 3/2.   2 goes into 3 once with 1 remainder so 3/2= 1 1/2 So then you take the original 2 and add it to 1 1/2. The answer is now 3 1/2

so you have to add another whole which is three then you take it away from the fifteen then you have 3 5/10 and simplify again and you get 4 1/2
