The first triangle equation: (4+5)^2 = X^2 + Z^2 81 = X^2 + Z^2 Z^2 = 81 - X^2 ------ (a) The second triangle equation: Also, X^2 = Y^2 + 4^2 X^2 = Y^2 + 16 -------(b) The third triangle equation: Z^2 = Y^2 + 5^2 Z^2 = Y^2 + 25 -------(c) Replace the value of Z^2 from (c) into (a) Y^2 + 25 = 81 - X^2 X^2 = 56 - Y^2 -------(d) Replace the value of X^2 from (d) into (b) 56 - Y^2 = Y^2 + 25 => Y^2 = 31 -------(e) Y = √31 = 5.57 Replace the value of Y^2 from (e) into (b) X^2 = 31 + 16 = 47 X = √47 = 6.86
